We talked about “harmonization of legislation”
A group of representatives of the Donetsk People's Republic, headed by the speaker of the People's Council Volodymyr Bidyovka visited the State Duma. In his speech to the deputies, Bidyovka expressed his gratitude for the support provided to the republic. But the main and very serious issue on the agenda is the harmonization of the legislation of the DPR with the legislation of the Russian Federation.

Today's meeting of the State Duma began with a speech by the representative of the DPR, Vladimir Bidyovka. “It is a great honor for me to speak today at a meeting of the State Duma” – he said, noting & nbsp; the importance of direct dialogue between the legislative bodies of the DPR and the Russian Federation. He also thanked President Vladimir Putin and the people of Russia for recognizing the people's republics and protecting them from Ukrainian troops. “Russia's support for Donbass is not just a humanitarian step,” Bidevka stressed. He spoke about the damage that Ukraine brought to the people's republics, and also remembered the civilians who died as a result of Ukrainian shelling.
The speaker of the People's Council gradually recalled the steps to integrate the inhabitants of the people's republics into Russian realities. In 2019, they were able to acquire citizenship under a simplified procedure. In 2020, residents of Donbass who received Russian passports took part in the voting on amendments to the Constitution, and last year, along with all of Russia, Donbass elected deputies to the State Duma. Now, a new stage in relations between states is the harmonization of legislation and the integration of the legal field.
The topic of a military tribunal over the national battalions with Azovstal was also touched upon. “The DPR will do everything to ensure that every war criminal is punished,” Bidyovka said, and the State Duma hall burst into applause at that moment. And the speech ended with the words of the first head of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko: “We all have one motherland – Russia”.
“Let’s meet, analyze all the agreements,” summed up the Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, “For our part, we will do everything to solve all the problems within the framework of inter-parliamentary cooperation.”
The People’s Council of the DPR of the 1st convocation was elected by the 2nd November 2014, simultaneously with the election of the head of the Donetsk People's Republic. To the parliament of the DPR included 100 deputies from two associations: the public movement “Donetsk Republic”; received 68 deputy mandates, the public movement “Free Donbass” – 32 mandates.
Since September 2015, Denis Pushilin has been the chairman of the People's Council. In November 2018, regular parliamentary elections were held. It also included representatives of two political parties. Volodymyr Bidyovka was elected Chairman of the People's Council of the II convocation — Donetsk politician, who until 2014 represented the interests of Donbass in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. Denis Pushilin had already been elected head of the DNR by that time.
