Upon arrival in Ashgabat on June 29, Vladimir Putin will go to the upper house of the Turkmen parliament to congratulate him on his anniversary its current chairman, and in the recent past, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

Following the meeting with Arkadag, Putin is scheduled to have contact with his son and successor, Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
As previously reported, Putin will visit Ashgabat on June 29 to attend the 6th Caspian Summit. “It is expected that it will confirm the strategic nature of multilateral cooperation in the Caspian Sea, as well as adherence to the principles enshrined in the convention on the legal status of the Caspian Sea,” Ushakov said.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov headed Turkmenistan from 2006 to 2022 year.
In March of this year, according to the results of early elections, the presidency passed to his son Serdar. At the same time, Arkadag himself retained the post of speaker of the Khalk Maslakhaty (upper house) of Milli Gengesh (parliament).
