Putin gave the ex-president of Turkmenistan two sabers and a sculpture of a rider for his birthday


Russian President Vladimir Putin gave the former head of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov two sabers, chess and a sculpture of a rider in honor of his 65th birthday. This was announced by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, TASS reports.

“Chess made by Zlatoust masters. Sculpture «The Returning Rider»— that is, a rider and a horse, which was made by the great-grandson of the famous St. Petersburg sculptor Lansere. And they also presented two sabers— one old, one new, — he said.

Putin arrived in Ashgabat to attend the sixth Caspian summit on the morning of 29 June. According to the plan, he was supposed to meet with Berdimuhamedov Sr. and his son— new President Serdar. The latter invited Putin to come to Turkmenistan during a meeting on June 10 in Moscow.
