Macron, Scholz and Draghi arrived in Kyiv

French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi arrived in Kyiv, Reuters reported.

Macron told reporters that he would meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on June 16.

The leaders of the three countries are going to discuss with Zelensky military assistance to Ukraine, as well as its application for entry into the European Union, writes the French edition Le Parisien.

Radio station Europe 1, citing sources, reported that during this visit, the French leader may announce the transfer to Kyiv of six more 155-mm Caesar self-propelled artillery guns. The first six such guns were handed over to Kyiv at the end of April.

The Italian newspaper La Stampa reported in June that politicians plan to discuss with the President of Ukraine the issues of demining ports and unblocking grain corridors.

In early May, German Chancellor Scholz said that he would not come to Kyiv until the Ukrainian authorities received German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier. Bild sources said that Kyiv did not want to receive the head of state because of “close ties”; togos Russia.
