Investigative Committee: two commanders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who ordered the shelling of Donbass were detained

Two commanders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who gave orders to shell houses in the LPR, were detained, the press service of the RF Investigative Committee reported.

Thus, senior officer of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Ilya Maslichenko and a soldier Senior sailor Yevgeny Vakhnenko of the 36th Separate Marine Brigade is suspected of mistreating the civilian population of Donbass. A criminal case has been initiated against them.

According to the investigation, from February 24 to March 3 this year, Maslichenko gave orders to shell houses and public places in Severodonetsk and nearby settlements.

It was also established that Vakhnenko fired from a machine gun at a civilian in the village of Volonterovka in the DPR, as a result of which the man died on the spot.

Earlier, the special forces of the Russian Guard detained an artillery gunner of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region, the man since 2018 participated in military operations in Severodonetsk, Konstantinovka and Volnovakha as a senior gunner of the 122-mm SAU-2S1 “Gvozdika”.
