Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that he intends to discuss with Russian President Vladimir Putin the results of his talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and UN Secretary General António Guterres in Lvov. ,— Erdogan said at a press conference following the trilateral meeting.
According to him, Turkey is also ready to become a mediator “in order to revive negotiations on the parameters formed in Istanbul.”

On August 18, the Turkish leader, together with Guterres, held closed talks with Zelensky in Lviv, which lasted about 40 minutes. As a result, Turkey and Ukraine signed an agreement on the restoration of the Ukrainian infrastructure destroyed as a result of the conflict, and the parameters of a possible IAEA mission to the ZNPP were agreed upon.
Earlier, CNN T & uuml; rk, citing sources, reported that during negotiations on August 5 in Sochi, Russian President Vladimir Putin made it clear to Erdogan that he was ready to meet with Zelensky. Thus, according to the channel, Moscow has softened its position, according to which, before the meeting of the leaders, it was necessary for the delegations of the two countries to prepare a “road map”.

Zelensky repeatedly suggested that Putin meet, and Erdogan expressed his readiness to organize these negotiations. However, the Kremlin stated that so far there were no necessary prerequisites for holding a summit meeting between Russia and Ukraine, since the delegations had not done their “homework”.
At the talks in Lvov, Zelensky once again stressed that the conflict in Ukraine should be decided at the negotiating table. At the same time, he indicated that Kyiv would only negotiate if Russian troops left all occupied territories.
