Blinken: Russians will feel the effect of sanctions in everyday life

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that the effects of sanctions against Russia will gradually become more visible, because the Russians will feel the effect of them in everyday life.

“Russians will not be able to buy what they could before,” said Blinken, “when Russia was open to the world.”

He added, that, in his opinion, the sanctions at present “already have a dramatic effect on the Russian economy and the ruble”, and henceforth the sanctions will begin to “bite harder and harder”.
